IThe Cabin

Your own private cabin in Levi.

Snow & Pine is a private log cabin built in 2024 in the forests of Levi, Finnish Lapland. It was designed for one purpose — to give you complete privacy, genuine comfort, and a real connection to the landscape around you.

The cabin sits on private land with its own entrance. You share no facilities, no access, and no part of the property with anyone else during your stay. This is not a unit in a resort complex or a cabin on a shared plot. It is a private home in a private forest, built to a standard that shows.

The design is Scandinavian in character — clean lines, natural materials, and a warmth that comes from both the architecture and the wood-burning stove at its centre. Floor-to-ceiling glazing brings the Levi forest directly into the living space. The private Finnish sauna and Drop Spa hot tub sit outside, facing the trees.

Snow & Pine was built by Colin and Livia, who moved to Levi in 2023 and host the cabin directly. When you book through snowandpine.com, you are dealing with them — not a platform, not an agency, not a property manager.

IIThe Forest

Private Forest Setting — Levi, Finnish Lapland

Snow & Pine sits on private land in the Levi forest. Surrounded by trees on all sides. No neighbours, no through traffic, no shared access.

The forest is not a backdrop. It is part of what Snow & Pine is. In winter, the cabin sits in deep snow, surrounded by snow-laden pines and the particular silence of an Arctic forest in the cold. The outdoor terrace, the hot tub, and the sauna all face directly into the trees. At night in the dark months, the forest sky above Snow & Pine is open and entirely without light pollution — which is what makes Northern Lights viewing from here different to viewing from a town or a resort.

In summer, the same forest fills with the long, slow light of the Lapland midnight sun. Year-round, the forest setting is central to what Snow & Pine is. It is the reason the floor-to-ceiling glazing faces the direction it does. It is the reason the hot tub is positioned where it is. It is the reason guests come back.

Northern Lights

The cabin stands in dark forest with floor-to-ceiling glazing and an open sky above, so on an active night the Northern Lights can appear from inside the cabin — or from the hot tub.

IVLiving Spaces

Open-plan living, dining and kitchen.

The main living area runs the full width of the cabin, with floor-to-ceiling glazing on the forest-facing side. Light fills it during the day. At night, the view shifts to the treeline and the sky above it.

The living room centres on a wood-burning stove — the kind that makes an entire cabin feel warm before you have sat down. A generous sofa, space to spread out, and the kind of quiet that is difficult to find anywhere else. The floor-to-ceiling windows mean the forest is always present: morning light through the pines, the low amber of an Arctic afternoon, and — on the right nights — the faint green shimmer of the Northern Lights beyond the glass.

VKitchen & Dining

A fully equipped kitchen, set against the forest.

The dining area opens directly from the living room. A proper table for the whole group, with the same floor-to-ceiling view. The kitchen is fully equipped and designed to be cooked in. A Sage espresso machine, full oven and hob, dishwasher, and everything needed to cook properly for a group. Pots, pans, utensils, glasses, and everything else that a self-catering stay actually requires. This is not a token kitchen.

For evenings in, the cabin has a projector and cinema system for film nights. A table football table for those evenings that go longer than planned. A play corner for younger guests. And a quiet office corner for anyone who needs to work during their stay — because some guests do.

VISauna & Hot Tub

Private Finnish Sauna and Drop Spa Hot Tub.

Two things that define a stay at Snow & Pine. Neither of them is shared.

The Finnish Sauna

A proper Finnish sauna is not an added luxury at Snow & Pine. It is part of what the cabin is. The sauna is authentic — traditional Finnish construction, proper heat, and entirely private to your group for the duration of your stay. You heat it when you want it. You use it when you want it. There is no booking system, no time slot, and no other guest using it before or after you.

For guests who have not experienced a Finnish sauna before: this is the real thing, in the country that invented it. Dry heat. Cedar interior. The option to throw water on the stones and feel the room respond. It bears no resemblance to a hotel steam room or a gym sauna.

For guests who know exactly what a Finnish sauna is and what they are looking for: you will find it here.

The Drop Spa Hot Tub

The outdoor hot tub at Snow & Pine is a Drop Spa — a purpose-built premium tub, properly heated, and designed to be used in all weathers. This is not an inflatable tub. It is a serious piece of outdoor wellness equipment, positioned to face the forest.

In winter, sitting in the hot tub surrounded by snow and frozen pines is a specific kind of experience. If the Northern Lights are active, you will see them from here. If the sky is clear and the aurora is quiet, you will see more stars than most people see in a year.

The sauna and the hot tub work together in the way that Nordic wellness has always worked — intense heat, then cold, then warmth again. It is the reason that guests who come to Snow & Pine for the first time often say the wellness experience alone justified the trip. Both are entirely private. Both are available throughout your stay without booking or restriction.

VIIIPractical

Wi-Fi, heating, parking and the everyday detail.

Wi-Fi: High-speed Wi-Fi runs throughout the cabin and is reliable enough for streaming and video calls. There is a quiet office corner for anyone who has to work during the stay.

Heating: The cabin is centrally heated throughout. The wood-burning stove in the main living area is there to be used — birch firewood is provided, and we will show you how to light and maintain it when you arrive.

Parking: Private, off-road parking for two vehicles directly at the cabin, at no extra charge. An engine block heater is fitted — in a Lapland winter, where overnight temperatures regularly fall below −20°C, a vehicle left out without one may not start in the morning.

Laundry: A dedicated laundry room with a washer and dryer, which makes a longer stay — or a stay with children — considerably easier.

IXAccessibility

What we know, and what we don’t.

The cabin has a bedroom on the ground floor, reachable without using the internal staircase. Beyond that, we have not yet measured the cabin properly, and we would rather tell you that than give you a figure we have not checked. Below is exactly what we know and exactly what we do not. If any of it affects your stay, email us and we will go and measure it before you book.

XHouse Rules

A few things we ask of guests.

  • The cabin is for the exclusive use of the guests named on the booking. Please do not exceed the maximum of eight.
  • No parties or events — the cabin sits in quiet private forest, and we intend to keep it that way.
  • No smoking anywhere inside the cabin, including the sauna.
  • Please follow the sauna and stove instructions we give you on arrival. Both involve real fire.
  • Please leave the cabin as you found it. It is cleaned professionally between stays, so this is about care rather than chores.

The full terms of your stay, including cancellation, are set out in the booking terms and confirmed when you book. Read the booking terms

Frequently Asked Questions About Snow & Pine

Snow and Pine Log Cabin Levi sleeps six guests comfortably across three bedrooms, and can accommodate up to eight. Two of the three bedrooms are upstairs; one is on the ground floor.

The cabin is entirely yours. It sits on private land with its own entrance. No other guests have access to the cabin, the sauna, the hot tub, the terrace or any part of the property during your stay.

Yes — a traditional private Finnish sauna, for your group alone. It is a real Finnish sauna rather than a steam room or spa cabin, with the option to pour water on the stones (löyly). There is no booking system and no time limit: heat it whenever you want it.

Yes. The cabin has a Drop Spa outdoor hot tub, positioned on the terrace facing the forest. It is heated and built to be used in all weather, including the depths of a Lapland winter.

Yes. The open-plan living and dining area is built around a group eating and spending evenings together, and the three bedrooms give everyone somewhere private to retreat to. The cabin takes up to eight guests.

Partly, and we would rather be specific than reassuring. There is a bedroom and living space on the ground floor, reachable without the stairs; two bedrooms are upstairs. We have not yet measured door widths, entrance steps or the parking-to-entrance route, so we do not describe the cabin as wheelchair accessible. If accessibility matters for your stay, email us and we will measure whatever you need to know before you book.

Yes — high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the cabin, reliable enough for streaming and video calls. There is also a quiet office corner for anyone who needs to work during their stay.

Yes. Private, off-road parking for two vehicles directly at the cabin, at no extra charge. An engine block heater is fitted, which matters in winter — a vehicle left overnight below −20°C may not start without one.

Often, but nobody can promise it. The cabin sits in private forest with no light pollution and an open sky, which gives you genuinely good conditions between late September and March. Whether the aurora actually appears depends on solar activity and cloud cover, and neither we nor anyone else can control those.

Yes, all year. Winter (November to March) is the busiest season, for the snow, the skiing and the Northern Lights. Summer brings the midnight sun and a completely different cabin — the same forest, lit around the clock. Spring and autumn are the quietest and best-value periods.
